Staying hydrated is one of the best things we can do for our bodies. Drinking Chia seeds in water or juice can help stay hydrated while providing additional vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients. Doing something as simple as staying hydrated can help our bodies:
We all know what it’s like to be dehydrated: headaches, feeling tired, dry skin, dry mouth, and being hungry and irritable. The amount of water you need to drink to keep from becoming dehydrated is different for everyone but the recommends 9-12 cups a day. Drinking water evenly throughout the day will help you feel hydrated and healthy.
And of course, Chia is a great way to help you stay hydrated, healthy, and feeling your best. If you’ve ever added Chia seeds to a glass of water and let them sit for 10 minutes or so you’ve probably noticed they form a clear gel around each seed. This gel locks in water which is slowly released into your system and helps you stay hydrated longer. Chia seeds absorb 10-12 times their weight in water and can be a great way to help you stay hydrated during the day or while exercising (or before enjoying a few cocktails).
Before exercising I’ll usually drink 2 cups water with 2 tablespoons Chia. I’ve tried drinking this Chia mixture while exercising but found it uncomfortable to be drinking seeds while running. Go figure. You should continue to drink water while exercising but drinking Chia seeds in water can help you feel better and more energized when you’re done.
